How to take a backup of your Orkut Account

Orkut, as we all might know is owned by Google and was started in the month of Jaunary, 2004 – the same year when Facebook was launched. It’s been 10 years since its existence and Google has finally decided to bid farewell to the then popular social networking website, Orkut.

This announcement has saddened the active users since they’ll have to leave the social networking platform. But, Google is allowing users to backup their entire account through a single ZIP/TGZ/TBZ (compressed) file, that would contain HTML files and the JPEG photos. In this post, we’ll be helping you to backup your entire personal information from the popular social networking website, Orkut. The backup shall include your profile, scraps received, testimonials received, activities and photos.

Step 1 – Login to your Google Account and after that visit the Google Takeout Page, here.

Step 2 – Click on ‘Create Archive’ button with Orkut checked in the list. And wait for a few moments till Google prepares all your data.

Step 3 – Once the archiving process is complete, you can proceed to the ‘Download your Data’ page to download your archive of your data.

Step 4 – Simply click on the ‘Download’ button to proceed with the download and you’re done! Please note: You might have to login to your Google Account, again but that is just for a security check.
